Crunch blank Thunderbirds, 3-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.  – Connor Ingram stopped 27 shots for his third shutout of the season as the Syracuse Crunch blanked the Springfield Thunderbirds, 3-0, tonight at the MassMutual Center.

The victory extends the team’s winning streak to seven straight and points streak to 10. Syracuse is now 11-5-1-0 on the season.

Ingram’s shutout gives him six consecutive wins. Chris Driedger stopped 25-of-27 in net for the Thunderbirds. Syracuse continued their power-play goal streak going 1-for-2, while the penalty kill shut down all five Springfield man-advantages.

Syracuse was first on the board 7:28 into the game. Cory Conacher forced a turnover at the blueline and came in on a 2-on-1 with Andy Andreoff. He sent a cross-slot feed for Andreoff to net his team-leading ninth of the season from the left circle. Mitch Hults tallied the secondary assist.

The Crunch doubled their lead during 5-on-3 play with 5:25 remaining in the game. Taylor Raddysh fed Conacher at the top of the right circle for a one-timer. His shot was blocked, but the rebound kicked out for Alex Barré-Boulet to clean up from near the post.

With 12 seconds remaining, Michael Bournival registered his first of the season with a shorthanded empty-netter.
