Corey Crawford made 27 saves for the win and credited with helping the Hawks extend their win streak to seven games.

“Yeah I feel good,” said Crawford, who is 6-0-0 in his past six starts and has allowed six goals. “Reading plays is good right now. Patient when I have to be. Getting out and being aggressive. It’s a good spot right now, but (there’s) always room for improvement.”

Crawford was stellar in net and made game-saving stops throughout the match.

“He’s definitely the backbone and getting the job done,” Blackhawks’ Brent Seabrook said . “Tonight he made some unbelievable saves.”

Marian Hossa scored for the Blackhawks in regulation to give them a 1-0 lead before Alex Pietrangelo tied it with less than three minutes left in regulation to salvage a point in the loss.

“That’s a tough way to lose,” Pietrangelo said. “I feel really bad right now. Tough to take a penalty there in the last minute. It’s a lonely feeling sitting in that box, I’ll tell you. I thought we did a good job though, crawling our way back and getting a point out of it.

“(I was trying) to get the puck out of our end. Sometimes the puck rolls. I’m not trying to flip it over the glass.”

Jake Allen took the loss on 28 saves.

Chicago was scoreless in five power play opportunities.

“We’re taking way too many penalties when the game’s on the line. We’re having to extend a lot of energy with a short bench,” Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock said. “Two games in a row, we took three penalties in the third period. It’s not a good recipe and they’re the same penalties.”
