Coyotes rip Chicago for 6-1 win

In Glendale Monday night, the Coyotes’ Antti Raanta made 37 saves to help Arizona to a 6-1 win over the suddenly toothless Chicago Blackhawks.

Six different skaters struck for goals for Arizona as they sent the Hawks to their sixth straight loss.

“Playing a couple years for them, you kind of have a little bit of a taste of what they can do,” Raanta said after the win.

Alex DeBrincat scored the lone Chicago goal as the Blackhawks dropped to 24-24-8.

“It’s been a tough little while here,” Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane said. “We’re just trying to find something positive to build off of and we just can’t do it right now so it’s frustrating.

“If we get down in a game, if we get behind, sometimes it’s just deflating on the bench, deflating for everyone.”

At this rate, the Blackhawks may end up being sellers on the trade market this season. It has already been suggested that the team brass would not be buying this season.

“I don’t think we want to be fooled knowing that you out-attempt them, you outshoot them, and out-chance them, and you lose the game without even giving yourself a chance of getting two points,” Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville said. “That’s what we play for. We’re in the winning business.”

Max Domi, Clayton Keller, Alex Goligoski, Tobias Rieder. Nick Cousins, and Christian Dvorak all scored for the Coyotes.

“I just like to see some guys scoring,” Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet said. “Hopefully it gets them some confidence and loosens some people up.”

Anton Forsberg. got the start for Chicago but was given the hook after yielding three goals with the third one in particular being a soft tally from Arizona.

“The third goal, I think that was the one that you need a save made,” Quenneville said. “We had some momentum there in the game. That one has to be stopped.”

Jeff Glass relieved Forsberg and gave three goals.

“Right after the game, initially, right now, there’s nothing good to feel about it. No one is leaving with a smile on their face,” the Blackhawks’ Connor Murphy said after the dismal loss.
