Ottawa put in a solid 20 minutes in the first period, taking a 3-0 lead on their hosts, the Coyotes.

Ottawa dropped to 11-16-0, off their fifth straight loss.

Connor Ingram  got the start for the Coyotes, and the first period was nightmare for him.

He surrendered three goals and made three saves before getting the hook in the first.

Karel Vejmelka made 15 saves in relief for the Coyotes in the win.
