In Glendale, the Coyotes let the Anaheim Ducks get out to a 3-0 lead and then roared back, again, for a 4-3 win on Wednesday night, after penalties.
“We’ve just got to do our best to stay positive right now, it’s tough to go through something like this,” the Ducks Max Jones said. “I mean, honestly, we’re playing the right way. It’s just the full 60 minutes that we need to to maintain and, for some reason, we’re just struggling with that right now.”
Adin Hill got the win for Arizona in relief, he made 14 saves.
“It’s exciting to know your team can turn around a game like that, that you’re never out of it,” Arizona goalie Adin Hill said. “That’s two games in a row, down 3-0, and these guys came back and found a way to get two points. That’s huge.”
Darcy Kuemper got the start, but was given the hook after making 18 saves
“He was phenomenal,” Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. “It’s a testament to guys that you’ve got to believe, you can’t sit around and pout if you’re not in there. He’s why we won the game.”
Max Comtois, Jones and Josh Mahura scored for the Ducks for the 3-0 lead.
“We went to 2 1/2 lines and just pushed the pace,” Tocchet said. “It’s one of those things where you don’t stop believing. But obviously we can’t keep a steady dose of this.”
Phil Kessel, Tyler Pitlick and Jakob Chychrun scored for the Coyotes.
“We never thought we were out of it,” Kessel said.
Conor Garland and Chychrun scored for the Coyotes in the skills competition.
Ryan Miller made 25 saves in the loss.
