“This is where we want to be, we want to be in that chase and we are doing whatever we can to get in there,” Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse said. “We’re a determined group right now and doing whatever we can to win hockey games.”

Crouse and Jakob Chychrun scored for Arizona in regulation.

The Coyotes are still one point back of the Minnesota Wild for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.

Darcy Kuemper made 30 saves for the victory.

“Kuemper kept us in it and we were able to come out and have a big third,” Chychrun said. “We knew if we won the period, we won the game so go out and put a good 20 together and come out on top.”

Adam Gaudette and Bo Horvat  scored for the Canucks.

“When you have the lead you want to protect it and don’t want to be gunning for offense late,” Horvat said. “I thought we sat back a little bit too much and they kind of took it to us.”

The Canucks went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

“We’ve said it a lot lately, a power-play goal would have been nice tonight,” Canucks head coach Travis Green said. “It probably would have been the difference in the game if we could have got one in the first two periods.”
