Cox joins Raiders

ROMFORD,U.K – Struggling English Premier league outfit Romford Raiders have signed defenseman Danny Cox to help plug the leaky defense that has already conceded 37 goals in just six games rooting the Essex based franchise to the bottom of the division. Cox joins the Raiders from English National side Haringey Greyhounds where the blueliner was captain. Cox had a spell in the EPL last season icing with Chelmsford Chieftains and will look to bring his leadership skills to the Raiders. A Raiders spokesman had this to say regarding the signing.
“Danny is a young British D-man with plenty of potential and we’re very happy he has decided to join the Raiders.” The moves balances the roster after the departure of David Oliver for personal reasons. Oliver’s time at the club is far from over though with the been left wide open for a return albeit at a lower level. David asked to stood down from the Raiders for a while for personal reasons and while we are disappointed to lose him,we’re happy to respect his wishes,” Raiders spokesman said “When he is ready for action again, we’ve offered him a place in the ENL Spitfires roster if he wants a slightly less pressurised return.” Contact the author at Kevin.oconnor@prohockeynews.com
