SAN ANTONIO – The Bakersfield Condors (32-27-5-1) scored five unanswered goals to erase a 2-0 deficit and defeat the San Antonio Rampage (26-40-5-2) 5-2 at the AT&T Center to earn a split in the weekend series.
The Rampage opened the scoring for the second consecutive game. Eric Gelinas found Reid Petryk driving to the net and Petryk tipped the pass by Condors goalie Nick Ellis at 7:55 of the first period on the power play for a 1-0 lead.
Felix Girard extended San Antonio’s lead to two early in the second period when he collected Brendan Ranford’s rebound and poked it into the cage at 1:03. The Condors quickly responded as Patrick Russell put a backhander past Rampage goalie Spencer Martin at 2:34 to make it 2-1 heading into the second intermission.
Jesse Puljujarvi tied the score 3:38 into the third period with a power-play goal from the left point and over the shoulder of Martin. Joey Laleggia gave Bakersfield the lead for good exactly seven minutes later when he received a pass in front from Lander and knocked it into the net. Mark Fraser and Braden Christoffer added empty-net goals at 18:03 and 19:10, respectively, to close the scoring.
