Columbus scores early and often in preseason win over Blues

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Blue Jackets took a 3-0 period lead over the St Louis Blues Tuesday night and coasted to a 5-2 win preseason win.

Five different skaters struck for goals for the Jackets.

Tyler Motte, Markus Hannikainen and Markus Nutivaara helped build the early lead in the first period.

The Blues tried to make a game of it in the middle frame with goals from Sam Blais and Tage Thompson but the Jackets responded with goals from Pierre-Luc Dubois in the second period and Dean Kukan in the third for the 5-2 final.

Joonas Korpisalo made 19 saves to get win for the Jackets and Jake Allen stopped 35 shots for the loss.
