LOVELAND, Colo. – After 33 years behind the bench of various hockey teams, Colorado Eagles Coach – Chris Stewart, has chosen to to surrender one of his many hats and will step down as the Eagles Head Coach. He will remain as Team President and General Manager.

“It’s been terrific! It’s been a real thrill! I want to thank all the fans, the community, the sponsors, everybody, and most certainly my family and all those great great players!”, said Stewart, at the press conference on Wednesday July, 6th 2016.

Stewart who’s coaching career included fifteen years coaching Canadian Jr. teams, Thirteen years as a CHL head coach while winning 3 league championships – (one with the Huntsville Channel Cats and two with the Colorado Eagles). And  the last five years as a head Coach with the Colorado Eagles in the ECHL where his teams have continued to make the playoffs each season.

gone on to be NHL draft picks.

As to his replacement- a diligent search is being conducted for the best available candidate and will be introduced in a future press conference.
