Clan’s Buesa feeling the buzz

Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan forward Jordan Buesa says he’s got a real feeling of the excitement among the fan base ahead of the new season.

The first games are a matter of weeks away when Malcolm Cameron’s men meet Fife Flyers and Dundee Stars, tickets for which are available now, in the first weekend of September.

And Buesa, who attended the OSC Fun Day, says he’s keen to meet his new team-mates and get back to business.

“I can’t wait to see the arena busy again,” he said. “It’s been a long summer and I’m excited to get back and play.

“You can really feel the buzz around the place when you speak to the fans and I met a quite a few of them at the OSC Fun Day and the excitement with them is something that stands out.

“They’re raring to go and when the puck drops, it will almost be like a return to normality for them when the season gets underway.

“A lot of the guys will be arriving soon and I can’t wait to meet them all.  It’s always nice when we all get together and you become friends over the course of the season.

“These are people you have to bond with over the next six or seven months and if you can get that right, it really shows on the ice.”

Buesa, along with team-mate Craig Peacock, took part in the Fun Day on Sunday where hundreds of fans visited Braehead Arena to get themselves in the mood for the season ahead.

And the 22-year-old spoke of the important of events like that and praised the work of the supporter’s club.

“Events like the OSC Fun Day are important to players,” he added. “I remember when I was a kid and I followed the team from the stands, I used to come to these kinds of events.

“It’s about giving something back and it’s great to mingle with the fans and show we’re normal people and it gives everyone a buzz for what’s to come.

“The guys at the OSC do a lot of hard work that people maybe don’t see and they do a great job for the club.  The amount of work that goes in perhaps goes unnoticed, but the fans really appreciate it.

“They’re the best supporters club in the league by far for me.”
