Mike Sirant took charge of Glasgow Clan for the first time on Wednesday night and saw his side come away with a 4-1 win over Nottingham Panthers at Braehead Arena.

Nottingham arrived four points behind league leaders Belfast Giants with a game in hand, while Clan, who parted ways with Corey Neilson earlier this week, were chasing a result that could pull them into a three-way tie for sixth. The Panthers had won all three previous meetings between the sides this season.
Liam Soulière made his home debut in goal for Glasgow, opposite Jason Grande for Nottingham.
“It’s a good feeling” said Soulière of getting a win on his home debut. “Obviously winning is better than losing. We knew it would be a challenge against Nottingham, the boys really stepped up and rallied.”
Clan got off to a dream start, with Colton Poolman opening the scoring before Jason Fram doubled the lead to give the hosts a 2–0 advantage at the first intermission.
Glasgow kept their foot down in the second period, adding a third goal early on in period two. Nottingham responded through Brendan Harris, but Daniel Tedesco restored Clan’s three-goal cushion to make it 4-1.
The hosts also leaned into a more physical approach, capped by a late altercation that saw Joe Hazeldine and Tim Doherty drop the gloves, while Matt Alfaro picked up an extra roughing minor. Clan restricted the Panthers to just eight shots through 40 minutes.
“There’s a lot more spaces on the edges to make plays, a and a lot of very skilled guys out there,” said Soulière of the transition to the Elite League. “A lot of plays are being made and you really have to be ready for anything.”
Felix Paré struck the frame of the goal in the third period as Glasgow pushed for a fifth, while Soulière denied Cooper Zech at the other end to preserve the margin. Neither side found the net in the final frame, and Clan closed out a 4–1 victory.
