Glasgow Clan fell to a strong performance from the Coventry Blaze at the Skydome as the home side claimed a 6-4 victory.

Chase Gresock got the game-opener for the hosts after a bad change allowed Coventry’s #27 into the Clan zone all alone where he slammed a quick shot past Lucas Brine on the powerplay.
Brine was tested often in the opening minutes of the game as Nick Seitz followed up a sharp-angle shot from Alessio Luciani and fired a rebound on net for the Clan netminder to deflect over the crossbar.
Cole Ully was later swarmed by Blaze players, especially Kim Tallberg, when he tried to get a second bite of the cherry with the reach of his stick on a poorly covered shot by Mat Robson.
Before the end of the first, Seitz doubled Coventry’s lead when he directed the puck high into the net after a commanding burst through the zones by Luciani.
Rylan Schwartz nearly halved the Clan’s deficit when he broke in on Robson’s net all alone early in the second period but a strong poke check by the Blaze netminder cut out the chance.
Luciani then scored a third for the Blaze with a quick pinpoint finish from the left dot before Gresock got his second of the night at the half-way point in the game which spelled the end of Brine’s night as Landon Bow came into replace him in net.
Keaton Jameson then opened the Clan’s account for the night when he snapped a shot high over Robson from close-range, but Terrance Amorosa was quick to snub the celebrations as he scored a fifth for the Blaze shortly after.
In the third period, Steven Seigo notched a second Clan goal onto the boards as he got a tip on a stretch pass from Liam Finlay to poke it past Robson.
Morten Jurgens then scored a sixth Blaze goal with six minutes to go in the game, but there was still enough time for Seigo and Liam Finlay to both send goals into the net and end the game 6-4.
