Clan come back from 4 down in OT win

Glasgow Clan produced a stunning comeback from four goals down to beat the Dundee Stars 6-5 in overtime on Saturday night at Braehead Arena.

The Stars were on the front foot from the off and deservedly led after an opening period that began late because of ice issues. Justin Bean opened the scoring at 1:39, followed by Griffin Luce threading the puck through Sami Aittokallio from almost below the goal line at 8:08.

Spencer Naas made it 3-0 just 44 seconds into period two as the Stars looked like they might run away with things. But Cade Neilson and Tristan Langan brought the Clan back to within one by 38:09, only for Morten Jürgens to restore the visitors’ two-goal cushion with 56 seconds left in the middle frame.

Miihkali Teppo pulled another back for the Clan before a well-taken Rylan Schwartz strike tied the game on the 52-minute mark. Jackson DeSouza appeared to have won it for Dundee when he put them back ahead with just over three minutes remaining, but a Langan shot from the point levelled things again with 1:51 to play.

The home side had forced overtime, and it took them less than 90 seconds to complete the turnaround – Brett Neumann, who scored twice midweek, struck the winner 1:28 into the extra period to give the Clan the extra point.
