Chicoutimi wins in overtime

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Trailing by two midway in third periods Chicoutimi scores twice in span of 2:15 second, pushing both teams in overtime. Kevin Klima scored the game winning goal only 18 seconds into the fourth period, to lead Chicoutimi to 4-3 win over Quebec.

Already registering two wins on this busy weekend of three games in three nights, Quebec went into Chicoutimi facing the Sagueneens.

Quebec broke the ice on their second power play opportunity. Ranked ninth overall running at 19.1 percent scoring 39 goals in 204 opportunities, Quebec defenseman Christian Huntley scores his sixth of the regular season as his wrist shot beat Chicouytimi netminder Alexis Shank under his right arm at 9:04.

Chicoutimi didn’t wasted time to reply tying the score at even strength 1:17  later. Morgan Nass’s shot found his way to beat Quebec goaltender Dereck Baribeau under his right pad.

Screened on Quebec first goal Sagueneens netminder wasn’t lucky on Quebec second goal as he didn’t has had no chance on Quebec center Andrew Coxhead eighth goals of the season as the Quebec young center redirect a shot from teammate defenseman Andrew Pico with 2:38 remaining to the opening period.

Going one-in-three on power play in the game Quebec took advantage of a penalty to Chicoutimi center Ryan Smith regaining a two goal leads. Quebec captain Matthew Boucher saw his shot slowly going behind Sagueneens netminder with 14:10 to play in the third.

Getting a goal in last 37 games Chicoutimi left winger Jeremy Fortin brought both teams back to square one with Chicoutimi next two goals in 2:15. On Chicoutimi second goals left alone in slot Fortin shot beat Baribeau with 8:48 remaining.

On his second goals in the game the Sagueneens forward beat Minnesota Wild free agent signee on his right side at 13:27.

Showing a record of 7-2-2 in 11 presence in overtime this season Quebec had all reason to begin the overtime period with confidence, but Chicoutimi had another scenario for the end. Kevin Klima only need 18 seconds to put an end in favor of home team as the older brother beat Baribeau on his right side for 4-3 overtime win for Chicoutimi.

Quebec will return home on next Thursday hosting Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
