Chicoutimi opens weekend with victory against Quebec

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Showing a record of 6-3-0-1 in their last 10 games Chicoutimi opens the weekend with a solid performance against their archrival defeating Quebec 5-1. Scoring two goals in first two periods adding another one in the third Yanick Jean’s team played very solid game with Nicolas Roy registering his 13th and 14th goals of regular season.

Chicoutimi came out of first period in Friday night game against Quebec with a 2-0 lead.

After Jonathan Bourcier missed his shot on a breakaway the home team open the scoring on a shot Quebec goal Julian Galloway would certainly has a chance to see it back.

As Chicoutimi tried to kill a penalty to Timothe Simard, Julien Carrignan-Labbe beat Quebec goalie as he ice the puck from his own territory. Labbe shot took a bad bounce surprising Galloway on his left side 4:08 into opening period.

Already shut-out on their first power play attempt Yanick Jean’s team adds a second goal to their lead with Nicolas Roy 13th goals of regular season playing on their second power play attempt.
