Chicago rallies past Ducks in OT, 3-2

The Anaheim Ducks are making a habit of building leads only to fritter them away and they did again Friday in a 3-2 OT loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Patrick Kane extended his point streak to 18 games on the game-tying goal from Duncan Keith.

“Been a fun little ride here,” Kane said. “It seems like I’m kind of making it a little difficult on myself here the last two games.”Chicago Blackhawks logo

Artem Anisimov picked up the game-winner with 1:53 gone in extra time.

Corey Crawford had 23 saves for the win.

“There’s not too many players like him (Kane) that come around,” Crawford said. “He could be the best American player of all time and he’s still young. He will (be) if he continues to do so many things and be that sort of game-changer that he’s been his whole career.”

Once again, the Ducks were frustrated by the Blackhawks,

“It’s a tough loss when you’re talking about the way we worked tonight and played almost 58 minutes of flawless hockey,” said Anaheim captain Ryan Getzlaf. “The end was pretty tough. We got a point, but we’ve got to find a way to build off some of these things even though we’re disappointed right now.”

John Gibson made 29 saves in the loss.

“For 58 minutes, we were pretty solid whenever we had to be,” Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. “That team has a way of never quitting, and they came in and found a way. It’s not that it’s them; it’s giving up two goals in the last minute and an overtime goal again. It’s pretty frustrating.”
