Chicago downs LA , 4-3

In Los Angeles, Phillip Danault‘s second goal of the game came midway through the third period on Thursday and got the Kings even with the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-3, to force extra time, which solved nothing.

Alex DeBrincat, who had a goal in regulation, was credited with the deciding marker in the skills competition to give the Hawks a 4-3 win.

“As a team, we’re trying to form this identity of how we want to play and how we want to be moving forward, so I think these past few games, pretty good,” DeBrincat said. “It shows us we can keep working hard, chances are going to come and we’re just going to bury them. It’s nice to win some games again, and hopefully we can keep going.”

Chicago moved to 24-32-9.

“We had a strong start and we got down a little bit, and then we pick it up and we came back in the third, and that was a huge point,” Danault said. “Obviously, we didn’t get the finish we wanted.”

Collin Delia made 43 saves in the Chicago win.

“I thought we did a good job of responding when they scored and not giving up too much,” DeBrincat said. “Delia made the stops when he needed to. And luckily, we came up with a win.”

Trevor Moore added a single marker for the Kings.

LA fell to 35-22-9.

Patrick Kane and Sam Lafferty  also scored for the Blackhawks in regulation.

“I think confidence just continues to grow and grow,” Lafferty said. “We want to continue to take steps not only for our careers but also for the sake of the team. I think everyone is really hungry right now to prove something and we’re doing it collectively, so that’s a good thing.”

Jonathan Quick made 28 saves in the LA loss.
