In Anaheim, the stripped down Ducks were doubled-up by the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night, 4-2.
Patrick Kane picked up a goal and three points in the win.
“Just make the right play, I think that’s the most important thing,” Kane said. “Whether it’s a pass or a shot, just make the right play.”
The Blackhawks moved to 23-32-9.
“I like the fact that we didn’t get rattled when they scored to tie it up [at 13:28 of the third period],” Chicago coach Derek King said. “We felt comfortable with our game. We kept going at it and got that big goal at the end there.”
Lankinen made 27 saves in the Chicago win.
Taylor Raddysh scored for the Hawks, his goal gave them a 1-0 lead.
Sam Carrick hit for a double for the Ducks.
“Playing 100 games is something that I’m super proud of,” Carrick said. “If you look at it, I’m 30 years old. It’s my 10th year as a pro, so it might not seem a lot for some people, but to me it’s a pretty big deal, and more importantly, my family, too.”
Anaheim dropped below .500 with the loss at e Ducks 27-28-11.
“We’re out here trying to win every game,” Carrick said. “Nothing’s really changed. Especially for a guy like me, there’s tons to play for.”
Dylan Strome and Alex DeBrincat each had a goal and an assist, and Kevin
John Gibson made 24 saves in the Ducks loss.
