CHARLOTTE, NC – The Checkers have assigned rookie forward Justin Shugg to its ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades. Shugg scored one goal and had two assists in 12 games for the Checkers. Previously while at the Everblades he was voted ECHL player of the week, scoring three goals with three assists.
The Checkers overall record this season stands at 15-8-2, on the road they are 6-5-1. In the standings they lead the Midwest Division and are 2 in the Western Conference with a five point lead.
Charlotte faces a two game road trip to the Texas where they meet the Stars on December 9, they are hosted by San Antonio Rampage December 11. The team then returns home for games against the Chicago Wolves December 15 and 16 and the Oklahoma City Barons December 18 and 20. They then have a Christmas break until December 30 when they are on the road again at Rockford Ice Hogs, and then the following day they travel to Chicago to play the Wolves.
