Chartier hat trick leads Belleville Sens to win over Amerks game recap

A Rourke Chartier hat trick helped to pace the Belleville Senators as they defeated the Rochester Americans 7-4 on Friday night at Blue Cross Arena.

Just over two minutes into the contest, Rochester opened the scoring through Kohen Olischefski. The Americans extended their advantage at the 8:23 mark of the first period when Linus Weissbach found the back of the net on the power play.

Later in the frame, the Senators countered as Rourke Chartier registered his 16th of the campaign with a slap shot from the left circle before Cole Cassels was able to equalize the score after he was the recipient of a fortunate bounce for his 12th of the season. Belleville continued their offensive outburst as Chartier notched his second of the game to give the visitors a 3-2 lead after twenty minutes of play.

In the second, Rochester forward Brett Murray would even the score at three goals apiece. The Amerks would retake the lead late in the stanza after Jiri Kulich tallied with the man advantage.

A dominant final frame from the Senators saw Egor Sokolov, Roby Jarventie, Angus Crookshank and Chartier all score en route to a thrilling come-from-behind road victory for Belleville.

The Senators return to action tomorrow when they visit the Toronto Marlies with puck drop set for 4:00 p.m. (EST).
