QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Winning the night before in overtime against Shawinigan (5-4) Charlottetown needed overtime for second time in as many nights, this time to defeat Quebec 3-2. Already broking the ice in first period with his 17th of the season, the Islanders assistant captain ended the hostility with his second of the night giving his team their second win in same circumstances.
Charlottetown broke the ice only 30 seconds into the first period. Driving to the net putting pressure in Quebec zone Jake Coughler redirected a pass from Chris Chaddock from behind the net beating Quebec goaltender Callum Booth on blocker side. 
Ranked ninth overall at 22.2 percent scoring 22 goals on 99 chances Quebec got first power play opportunity following a penalty to Islanders defenseman Guillaume Brisebois. Charlottetown successfully killed the penalty.
Action continued in second period as both teams played solid hockey. Quebec thought they had tied the game at one goal-a-piece with 2:21 remaining as Jonathan Bourcier scored goals, but referee Tim Hamel waved-off the goal saying the puck had been hit higher than the shoulder.
Charlottetown answered back with 1:30 left on the clock in middle frame with Chris Chaddock who already got an assist on his team first goal scored Islanders second goal surprising Quebec goalie at 18:30.
Trailing by two after forty minutes of play in Charlottetown, Quebec found a way to come back tying the game 2-2 with two goals in 29 seconds.
How often you hear a coach relate the importance of winning face-off especially in the offensive zone. That is exactly what Quebec center showed when his face-off won led to Quebec first goal scored by Andrew Coxhead at 8:12.
Remparts captain Matthew Boucher brought both teams to square one with his 13th of the regular season. Mating first save on Quebec defenseman Raphael Maheux shot from the blue line Charlottetown goaltender Blade Mann-Dixon can’t do anything on Matthew Boucher backhanded shot 29 seconds later at 8:41.
Already getting one point each because the score was tied after sixty minutes of regulation time, both teams played for the additional point. Winning in overtime against Shawinigan the night before, Charlottetown wins the battles thanks to the second goal in the game by Jake Coughler at with 1:28 remaining in the overtime.
Quebec will be back home next Wednesday November 30 hosting the Halifax Mooseheads.
