Charlotte awards local schools $5,000

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Charlotte Checkers have awarded two local schools each with $5,000 in technology upgrades. $2,500 is a donation from the team’s foundation and $2,500 worth of products and software donated by Microsoft.
 
The winning schools are Endhaven Elementary and Cornelious Elementary. The winners were determined by a vote on the Checkers Facebook fan page. Twenty four schools were chosen from nominations based on the need for technology upgrade, with 2,000 votes being cast.
 
Microsoft will provide Kinect for Windows, Xbox 360 with Kinect, Visual Studio Pro, Windows 7 plus some additional product.   Microsoft products and services support education.
 
The Charlotte Checkers Charitable Foundation supports community programs that impact the lives of children. The Checkers have donated in excess of $2.3 million to the Charlotte community.
