Noah Cates signed a two-year, $5.25 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday. It has an average annual value of $2.625 million.
The 24-year-old forward was a restricted free agent and avoided a salary arbitration hearing that had been scheduled for July 20.

Cates had 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) playing in all 82 games as a rookie for the Flyers last season.
Selected by Philadelphia in the fifth round (No. 137) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Cates has 47 points (18 goals, 29 assists) in 98 regular-season games.
