Carolina best Tampa and Vasilevskiy, 4-3 Update to follow

In Raleigh, the Hurricanes’ Sebastian Aho  scored the deciding goal in the sixth round of the skills competition on Thursday night, to down the Tampa Bay Lighting, 4-3.

Fredrik Andersen made 23 saves in the Hurricanes win.

The two teams traded goals throughout regulation with Carolina taking an early 1-0 lead off a strike from Seth Jarvis in the first period.,.

Carolina improved to 7-2-1.

Tampa’s Ross Colton  tied it 1-1 with a power play goal in the middle frame.

The Lightning took a 2-1 lead off a goal from Nicholas Paul  in the second.

Carolina replied with a goal from Martin Necas  to tie it, 2-2.

Tampa dropped to 6-4-1.

With Carolina chasing the Bolts all night, Nikita Kucherov  gave Tampa a 3-2 on a two-man power play in the middle frame.

Brady Skjei forced the extra session with a goal in the 14th minute of the third period.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 52 saves in the Tampa loss.
