There were no goals scored in the second period, but it was not without it’s scrums.  About midway through the period, Brandon Bollig and Luca Sbisa were both given roughing calls after they were tangled up inside the net with Eddie Lack.  The scrums continued as the game progressed.

The third period both teams had a couple of great scoring opportunities that were stopped cold.  Ronalds Kenins caught a pass from Bo Horvat and quickly popped the puck into the net for the 3-0 Vancouver lead. At 15:46, Yannick Weber and Dennis Wideman were issued game misconducts.  Calgary broke the shutout, when Kris Russell snapped a slapshot for a powerplay goal at 16:26.  Hiller was pulled for the extra attacker, but a loose puck in the neutral zone, allowed Radim Vrbata to take a pass from Nick Bonino and score the long shot on an empty net for the 4-1 score.  Karri Ramo served the final time in the net for Calgary.
