Campbell, Reign Halt Rampage 2-0

Ontario, CA – Goaltender Jack Campbell tied a career mark with his fourth shutout of the season, making 25 saves to send the Ontario Reign (32-18-10-0) over the San Antonio Rampage (25-34-5-2), 2-0, at Citizens Business Bank Arena Saturday evening.

Game Summary

The Reign kicked off the scoring early in the first period when forward Andrew Crescenzi knocked a rebound over Rampage netminder Spencer Martin (L, 21 saves on 23 shots) from the top of the crease at 5:03. Forwards Sean Backman and Brett Sutter picked up assists.

Forward Michael Mersch made it a two-goal advantage 5:39 into the second period, banging in his 16th goal of the season off a feed from forward Teddy Purcell. Forward T.J. Hensick added the second assist.

Campbell sealed the victory in the third period with 10 saves including a pair of split stops on the penalty kill. The Reign finished the contest 0-for-3 on the power play while the Rampage went 0-for-5.
