Bulldogs pull one out late in Sudbury

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs completed the northern sweep Friday night with some late game heroics in a 3-2 win in Sudbury.

The Bulldogs got a power-play opportunity at the midway point of the 1st period and made no mistake as Matthew Strome (17) finished off a 3-way passing play to make it 1-0 Hamilton. The Bulldogs went up 2-0 at 15:20 as Will Bitten (10) was sent in alone and he made no mistake.

Hamiltondominated play in the 2nd period, but Sudbury goalie Mario Culina stopped all 17 shots he faced and it was the Wolves who scored the only goal to make it 2-1 at 12:35. That goal led to a shower of Teddy Bears onto the ice as the Sudbury fans celebrated the Teddy Bear Toss.

The Wolves poured it on in the 3rd period and the pressure resulted in the tying goal at 15:35. However, signal the Hamilton heroics from Brandon Saigeon (16) who capitalized on a turnover and buried the game winner at 17:50.
