HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs go into the Christmas break on a 5-game winning streak thanks to a Sunday afternoon 5-2 home-ice win over the Peterborough Petes.
Hamilton’s power-play went to work early in the 1st period as Ryan Moore (11) scored at 2:46 to go ahead 1-0 with Brandon Saigeon (17) connecting with the man advantage to make it 2-0 at 8:50. The Bulldogs upped their lead to 3-1 at 11:19 as Connor McMichael (3) made it 3-0. Peterborough got on the board at 16:59 to cut the lead to 3-1 but just 31-seconds later Arthur Kaliyev (14) restored the 3-goal lead as the Bulldogs took a 4-1 lead to the dressing room.
Just one goal in the 2nd period as the Black and Gold went ahead 5-1 thanks to a Zachary Jackson (3) goal at 3:05. Bulldogs rookie Liam Van Loon got an assist on the play, his first ever OHL point.
Despite giving up a Peterborough goal at 2:26 of the 3rd period, Hamilton cruised to a 5-2 win.

The Bulldogs wrap up the first half of the regular season with a record of 21-7-3-3 good for 48-points and 1st place in the East Division and 1st overall in the Eastern Conference.
