HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The final home game of 2017 saw the Bulldogs use a strong 3rd period to record a 7-4 win over the Kingston Frontenacs Saturday, extending Hamilton’s win streak to seven games in a row.
Kingston opened the scoring on the power-play at 6:13. That was followed by a Hamilton power-play that saw Matthew Strome tip one home, but it was disallowed after video review ruled that Strome’s stick was too high. However, the power-play continued and Brandon Saigeon (21) scored a good goal to tie the game 1-1 at 12:59. Strome (19) did get on the scoreboard at 19:01 to give the Black and Gold a 2-1 lead after the opening twenty minutes.
The two teams each scored twice in the 2nd period with Hamilton getting goals from Will Bitten (11) and Connor McMichael (5) to take a 4-3 into the 3rd period.
Kingston scored early in the 3rd to tie the game 4-4, but the Bulldogs scored three unanswered goals, as Strome (20), Arthur Kaliyev (15) and Ryan Moore (12) made the final 7-4.
Hamilton out-shot the Frontenacs 41-27.
