Jeff Carter  had two goals in the win.

“A few lucky bounces here and there, but all in all it’s starting to come together for us,” Carter said. “We just have to keep going with the way we have played.”

Dustin Brown, Tanner Pearson, Tyler Toffoli,  Kyle Clifford and Dwight King added to the seven-spot for the Kings.

“They were competitive and we weren’t. I obviously have to take responsibility for that because we weren’t competitive enough to compete at the level of the game tonight for whatever reason,” Leafs head coach Mike Babcock said. “They got better and we got worse and we didn’t have any pushback in time whatsoever. As optimistic as everything appears one day, and you’ve won three in a row, you get your lunch fed to you and you’re not competitive, not organized and not prepared.”

Frederik Andersen  got the start for the Leafs but was pulled after yielding four goals; he made 22 saves on 26 shots.

Jhonas Enroth relieved Andersen.
