In Boston, Linus Ullmark made 25 saves in a 3-2 win for the Bruins over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night.
David Pastrnak scored twice for the Bruins, both goals came off the power play.
“From the first half of this season, I haven’t changed much,” Pastrnak said. “To be honest, I think it was a little bit of puck luck earlier, and it didn’t go my way. Today is a great example of that, both goals got deflected and went in, so just getting a little lucky.”
Boston improved to 26-14-3.
Taylor Hall hit for a single in the Boston win.
“These guys have been around, and they know the importance of [getting points]. We didn’t value that tonight, and we weren’t very respectful of the game in a number of instances with the puck for whatever reason,” Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said. “At the end of the day, they got [the lead] back, and got a big goal for us on the power play. We held on, got some saves, and got the win.”
Pastrnak’s second goal came midway through the third period to snap the 2-2 tie and give the Bruins the win.
“It’s been better for me [offensively, lately],” Hall said. “I didn’t love my last five or so games. I feel like I ran into a bit of a wall with my game, and I couldn’t get much going. I have felt better since the COVID break, just coming in, playing my game and being a little more relaxed at the rink and away from the rink. It lets me play my best when the chips are down.”
Joonas Donskoi and Mason Appleton scored for the Kraken; their two goals rallied the Kraken from an 0-2 deficit to a tie.
“We played a good third [period]. We played a good hockey game,” Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol said. “It was a tight game, 5-on-5, special teams. … We had some opportunities on the power play that could change that, in terms of scoring earlier in the game. We weren’t able to do that.”
Chris Driedger made 23 saves in the Seattle loss.
“I honestly thought [Pastrnak] was passing it backdoor there,” Driedger said. “Whenever it hits off your glove and kind of floats back, you’re never really happy with those. Obviously, he’s an elite player, but there’s a lot of elite players in this league. You’ve got to stop them, if you want to be good yourself.”
