PHILADELPHIA – The Flyers’ win streak ended at nine games on Tuesday when Tuukka Rask made 36 saves in a 2-0 win for the Boston Bruins.
“It’s one of those things you almost need 100 points to make the (Stanley Cup) Playoffs,” Rask said. “The League’s tighter than ever and we’re just trying to get a head start early in the season and keep that momentum going the whole year, and we’ve accomplished that this year. Now we finish strong.”
Matt Grzelcyk and Patrice Bergeron were the Boston strikers.
“For two periods I felt we were the better team on the ice,” Flyers head coach Alain Vigneault said. “We had some good opportunities to take a lead, couldn’t get anything past [Rask]. That goal that they got on their power play at the end of the second period seemed like it gave them confidence and momentum because in the third period they were the better team.”

Carter Hart made 27 saves in the loss.
“I liked our game,” the Flyers’ Matt Niskanen said. “I’d rather win, but we just went on a heck of a run, played pretty good hockey tonight. You can see how tight it’s going to be when you play only good teams in about a month here. So it was a good test for us.”
