SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Boston Bruins defeated the San Jose Sharks with a final score of 3-1 in San Jose. The game was back and forth action, until late in the third period, when the Bruins sealed the win.

Brad Marchand’s goals in the first and third period would have been enough for the win. Marchand led the scoring on the rush towards the net, when a pass Jake DeBrusk and then ripped the puck towards the net, going just past the outstretched foot of James Reimer for the opening goal.
In the second period, Timo Meier’s one-timer evened the score. The powerplay goal was assisted by Brent Burns and Logan Couture.

Early in the third period, Marchand picked up a loose puck near the side of the net and his shot ricochet off Reimers shoulder into the net, to give the Bruins the go-ahead goal. Then, with only 39 seconds left in the game, Patrice Bergeron’s goal secured the 3-1 win for the Bruins.
