Boston makes roster moves with Marchand suspension

BOSTON – After arriving here at Gillette Stadium, the first press conference of the day featured Bruins General Manager, Don Sweeney, and suspended Bruin forward Brad Marchand.

Colin Miller has been sent down to Providence and Alexander Khokhlachev has been recalled from Providence.

Marchand was very apologetic in regards to his suspension for three games.  “It’s very disappointing. It’s something that we were all looking forward to, but I respect the decision that the league has made, and I’m going to live with it.”

Marchand is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, will forfeit $164,634.15. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
