DUNDAS—Brad Bonello’s three-point night gave the Dundas Real McCoys its second win of the season as they defeated the Whitby Dunlops 6-3 in Allan Cup Hockey action tonight in the JL Grightmire Arena.
Dundas with the victory has a record of two wins, two losses and an overtime loss. The Dunlops have a 1-3-0 record.
In other action, the Brantford Blast defeated the Hamilton Steelhawks 7-2 in Hamilton’s Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.
The McCoys took the early lead in the first period on a goal by Phil Brewer. In the second period, the teams traded goals and Dundas skated to a 4-3 lead. The McCoys came back with a pair of goals in the final period for the victory.
In addition to Bonello, Dundas got a goal and an assist each from Connor Russell and Phil Brewer. Cam Watson and Kyle McNeil added single goals. Trevor Atkinson, Mark Bennett and Simon Mangos set up two goals apiece.
For the Dunlops, Darren Doherty and Tyler Melancon replied with a goal and an assist each. Kyle McLaughlin added the other.
The next action for Dundas is Friday, November 22nnd against the Steelhawks at 7:30 p.m. in the Grightmire Arena.
