To say the Habs were unhappy would be an understatement.

“No positives,” Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said. “This is unacceptable.”

Tyler Johnson potted the game-winner with just over a minute gone in the extra session; it was his second goal of the game.

“We had to stick to our system, keep going, keep driving,” Johnson said. “Feels good for us to get back, get the win, get the two points and keep going.”

Victor Hedman and Ondrej Palat scored for the Lightning in regulation who improved to 18-15-3 on the season.

The Habs dropped to 21-9-5 on the campaign and got their goals from Alexander Radulov, Shea Weber and Chris Terry.

“We definitely don’t want to play on our heels when we have a lead like that,” Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty said. “We like to go in their end and not give them any momentum, but unfortunately they created offense and got some momentum.”

Carey Price had 26 saves in the win.

“The desperation was not there. They certainly had more desperation than us,” Therrien said of the Montreal effort in the loss.
