In St Louis, Jordan Binnington made 28 saves to help the Blues win their first game of the season, 32, over the visiting Dallas Stars.
“It’s not going to be easy. People are going to be playing hard every game. That’s the NHL. Every night is a tough game. There’s skill on every team. You’ve got to be prepared, do your best and play hard for each other,” Binnington said.
Sammy Blais had the game-winner for St Louis as the Blues rallied. The goal came off a carom on a shot from the point.
“It was a good bounce,” Blais said. “When you work hard, you get some good bounces. I’m just happy to be in the position I’m at right now. I’ve just got to keep going.”
David Perron and Brayden Schenn also scored for the Blues.
Dallas had a power play goal w2aved off for offside.
“It’s a turning point. That’s a game-changer,” Schenn said. “Obviously it gives you some confidence, momentum that you need just one to get yourself back into it, so good job by Sean Ferrell.”
Mattias Janmark (shorthanded) and Miro Heiskanen scored for the Stars who held a 2-1 lead in the third period before the Blues rallied.
“I think we played a good first two periods. Last one wasn’t that good. It’s getting better and better all the time. We didn’t create that much offensive-zone time (in the third period). We have to win tomorrow,” Heiskanen said after the game.

Ben Bishop made 27 saves in the loss, the second loss of the season for the Stars.
“I think we could have won both games,” Bishop said. “We didn’t win either of them. They got a couple lucky bounces tonight. Third one was going 5 feet wide. I don’t know if it went off his [behind] or what and then deflects in. Second one was a little lucky too. Bounces off me and bounces in. Other than that, pretty happy. I feel pretty good out there.”
