Blues rally past Flyers for 6-3 win

In St Louis Wednesday, the Blues rallied past the Philadelphia Flyers with four unanswered goals in the third period to erase a 3-2 deficit and win, 6-3.

The Blues’ Robby Fabbri netted a hat trick in the win.

“It’s a cool feeling. It’s special,” Fabbri said. “To get it in a win is even better.”

His last hat trick was apparently a distant memory.

“I couldn’t tell you that; it’s been awhile,” Fabbri said.

The Blues are 14-2-4 on home ice.

“I think we’ve had a lot of these go our way at home,” St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock said. “We just stay on it. We trust our work at home and believe in it and just stay on it.”

Carter Hutton made 17 saves for the win.

The Flyers took a 3-2 lead with less than five minutes gone in the third period when Brayden Schenn scored.

But the Blues replied with goals from David Perron and Scottie Upshall and two from Fabbri.

“We wanted just too easy of a night,” Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said. “We wanted to play too easy of a game. We have to be better and we’ll address that, and we’re not going into easy places to play the rest of this road trip, so we’ll sort it out and get back to work tomorrow, and that’s the bottom line.”

Wayne Simmonds and Nick Cousins also scored for Philadelphia.

Steve Mason made 19 saves in taking the loss.

Kevin Shattenkirk also had a goal for the Blues.

“Our team, for the most part, when we got down by a goal early, we didn’t flinch. We held our game,” the Blues’ Scottie Upshall said of the team’s rally.
