Everyone wants a goalie controversy in St Louis.
Why?
Jordan Binnington is doing just fine; on Saturday, the rookie improved to 9-1-1 in his first 11 NHL games and made 29 saves to help the Blues to a 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators.
The Blues have won five straight and improved to 26-22-5.
Vince Dunn, Vladimir Tarasenko and Mackenzie MacEachern had the Blues’ goals.
“I think it’s just confidence right now,” Dunn said of the winning streak. “Everyone’s really happy with how everyone’s playing. We’re really supportive of each other on the ice, off the ice. I think when the team’s playing as a whole, it’s really easy for us to be successful. Guys are getting points when everyone’s working together.”
The Preds dropped to 33-20-4.
“Not good,” Nashville head coach Peter Laviolette said. “They were faster than we were. We didn’t play the game fast enough. We didn’t have enough attitude in the game. It wasn’t a good day.”
Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Johansen struck for Nashville.
“I thought the first two periods wasn’t good enough,” Ekholm said. “They were better than us. They were all over us. I felt in the D zone, we were more tired than not.”

Pekka Rinne made 30 saves in the loss.
“This is a good opportunity to see where both teams are at. Give them credit tonight, they were the better team for most of the game. We need to make sure that doesn’t happen tomorrow,” Johansen said.
