In St Louis, the Blues fanned the embers of the playoff chances in a 3-1 win over the visiting Los Angles Kings on Wednesday night. 
The Blues kept a steady rhythm going in the game with a goal in each frame.
The Blues took a 1-0 lead in the opening stanza on a strike by Alexey Toropchenko at 17:30, scoring off a shot through a gaggle of legs and sticks in front of the net.
In the middle frame, St Louis’ Jake Neighbours pushed the advantage to 2-0 at 1:57 with a close in shot.
The Kings dropped to 33-21-11, the Kings have been unable, recently, to get any kind of winning streak going.
In the third period, Brandon Saad extended the lead to 3-0 on a marker midway through the period, scoring from the right circle.
Adrian Kempe was the lone striker for LA, his third period goal ruined the shutout bid for Binnington.
Kempe scored at 13:08, picking up a rebound for the goal. 
Cam Talbot made 27 saves in the loss.
