Zach Parise had the only goal for the Wild, his strike made the score 2-1 in the first period.

O’Reilly had a shorthanded goal among his three.

“It’s really nice. I can’t remember the last time I scored a shorthanded goal,” O’Reilly said. “I was trying to apply pressure on the kill and got it with my stick and almost fell over shooting but managed to get it in the net. It’s nice. It’s been awhile since I scored one of those.”

Jaden Schwartz scored twice for the Blues,

Zach Sanford opened the scoring in the game to give St Louis a 1-0 lead.

Schwartz pushed the lead to 2-0, then made it 3-1. From there, the rout was on.

“Throughout a season, you’re going to have some times where you’re not scoring as much as you’d like, you’re not going to get rewarded for some of the work you’re doing,” Schwartz said. “And we were kind of going through a bit of a funk there, and it was frustrating for everyone. Everyone was probably gripping it, but we did a good job of staying with it.

“Tonight, we got rewarded. It’s a funny game som

Justin Faulk and Sammy Blais also scored for the Blues.

“He’s probably going to be out for a certain amount of time,” St. Louis head coach Craig Berube said. “I’m not sure yet.”

Kappo Kahkonen was left in the crease for the entire game; he made 29 saves in the loss.

“Not a fun experience,” Kahkonen said. “That was embarrassing by myself. I felt I left my team down. Tough night, obviously.”
