Blue Jackets hold on for 3-2 win over Dallas

In Dallas, it was too little, too late for the Stars.

After giving up three goals to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, the Stars rallied but fell a goal short in a 3-2 loss.

Joonas Korpisalo made 22 saves in the win.

“We knew they were going to push at some point,” Korpisalo said. “They scored two, but I think I could have done a better job there.”

Eric Robinson gave the Jackets a 3-0 lead with a strike early in the final frame.

That was needed because the Stars struck twice in less than four minutes.

“That was a pretty big moment for us,” Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella said. “When they scored two quick ones, I contemplated calling a timeout. I knew we had a TV timeout coming pretty soon.

“Just let them play. There was one little rush, a pretty scary rush, then we settled in. I think that’s a really important few minutes as we keep pushing forward in the season here and staying within ourselves.”

Dallas has dropped four straight to fall to 6-8-4.

“It’s not good. I’ll tell you that,” Dallas’ Jamie Benn said.

Miro Heiskanen got the Stars on the board to make it 3-1 for the Blue Jackets.

Jason Robertson cut the deficit to one goal at the midway point of the third period.

Boone Jenner and Oliver Bjorkstrand  scored for the Blue Jackets to give them a 2-0 lead.

“I just tried to get in on the forecheck, find the loose puck, and bring it to the net,” Jenner said. “I brought it out, just shot it on net, and found a hole.”

Anton Khudobin took the loss on 19 saves.
