Blue Jackets edge Dallas, 2-1

In Dallas Monday night, Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves to backstop the Columbus Blue Jackets past the Stars, 2-1.

“I think for both teams it was a real hard game,” Columbus coach John Tortorella said. “It’s close to what the game should be played like. … It was a fun game to be involved in. It’s the hardest we’ve played. And I give them credit, too, because they were hard to play against.”

Columbus is 3-0-2 in their last five games.

Pierre-Luc Dubois had the game-winner in the third period and Cam Atkinson had a goal in the win.

“(Atkinson) made a nice play to bring it back around the net,” Dubois said. “I was lucky enough to get a stick on it.”

Columbus improved to 10-6-2.

Alexander Radulov had the only goal for the Stars.

“Those points are huge,” Radulov said. “The power play cost us the points.”

Dallas dropped to 9-7-2.

Anton Khudobin made 26 saves.

“The third period was kind of just flat. We didn’t seem to be able to build momentum off of [Alexander Radulov’s goal late in the second],” Stars head coach Jim Montgomery said after the loss. “I thought the last seven minutes of the second was the best seven minutes of our game. I don’t think it was a lack of effort, it was a lack of execution. We just weren’t very sharp.”
