Playing a pretty even first period neither teams was able to break the ice. Tyler Hylland Armada defenseman Guillaume Archamault and center William Gignac got best scoring opportunities.

On the Quebec side, Auguste Impose and Jesse Sutton had the best Quebec scoring chances; on both occasions Blainville Boisbriand goaltender made the saves on both occasions.

While the first period was tight with few scoring opportunities, back from shoulder injury Matthew Boucher got first great scoring chance on breakaway but like Armada netminder did in first period he made the save. Yanick Turcotte got great sot from right side as Armada netminder made the save with his blocker.

The visitors replied with next two scoring chances from Kristian Pospisil and defenseman Guillaume Beaudoin. Blainville Boisbriand got their first opportunity to play with man up following a penalty to Quebec veteran defenseman Raphael Maheux.

Tyler Hylland thought he got first goal of the game as his team was in power play but Quebec goaltender Kiselev made the save with his glove. Referee need the video replay before confirming no goal.

After killing penalty to teammate Maheux Quebec broke the ice at even strength as centef Alexandre Sills beat Armada netminder high on left side at 11:15 of second period on great pass from defenseman Anthony Gingras.

Quebec got second chances with the man-advantage but like the first time the visitor successfully killed that one too.

Trailing by one Blainville Broibriand turn things around with two goals in 35 seconds taking the lead for first time in the game. Stickhandling going between two Quebec defenseman Yvan Mongo beat Quebec netminder Evgeny Kiselev on his right side 2:42 into third periods.

The Armada came back 35 seconds later as Quebec goaltender has been surprised by a long shot from Armada defenseman Guillaume Beaudoin beating Kiselev this time on his left side at 3:17taking the lead for first time in the game.

Working hard trying to preserve the lead with less than four minutes left in third, Alexander Katerinatis has been cut out for tripping at 16:17 opening the door to home team launching their power play units for third times in the game.

Already been 0-in-three with a man advantage visitor killed again Quebec power play but as Quebec goaltender been called to come to the bench for sixth attackers Quebec surprised Armada goaltender Montembeault high on his left side with Remparts playing six-on-five at 18:39.

With the score been 2-2 Quebec saw another chance to play five-on-four as Armada right winger Alexandre Katerinakis been guilty for tripping with 1:21 remaining in the third period giving Quebec the chance to begin the overtime period playing four-on-three getting more space on the ice.

Again for the fourth times in the game Blainville Boisbriand was able to kill that penalty and couple minutes later Willian Gignac put an end to the suspense as his wrist shot beat Quebec goalie at 3:21 of the overtime period giving a 3-2 wins to the visitor underlining their first victory of the season against Quebec losing the first two previous meeting.

“I’m happy for the guys,” answered Blainville Boisbriand head coach Joel Bouchard. “It wasn’t an extraordinaire game for us but we came from the Maritimes we have a young team, we didn’t won for long times but the guys worked hard in every games, they are always there and they never gave up.”

“The kids want to do right things for them to get two goals in third periods we weren’t able to put our hand on the puck before they score a goal, for me overall I took that game, I told them several things wasn’t good but it wasn’t because they didn’t have good intentions.”

For Quebec veteran center Alexandre Sills Quebec didn’t play bad game on Thursday night. “We give a constant effort, their two goals was two errors we made we gave them three with the goal in overtime. We have had several chances on power plays but we weren’t able to capitalize on it.” The former Rouyn-Noranda center said.

“If we could put the puck in the net on our four-on-three in overtimes it could help us but at least we have had our chances.”

For Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher his team played tight game and having tough time to create some offensive.

“That is the way we should keep the game we should play tight game, we have had tough time to be creative offensively with the lead 1-0 in the beginning of the third periods we were in good position but we slept a little bit for 35 seconds and it cost us.” Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher said.

“It is a team that work,” continued Boucher, Montembeault (Samuel) won’t gave you easy goal for sure, Mongo is a hard worker it was a very beautiful goal, it was one against three, you have to recognize it was a forward who skate on back talking about his own player Sean O’Brien we let O’Brien to play the one on one instead of giving him support giving some help and it cost us.”

“On the other goal we should get out of our zone but the puck took a weird bounce the puck seems to have eyes like the Dutra’s goal the one that gave us the chance to go in overtime. It was like this morning when you ask how many goal you want to get. I want us to give us a chance to win every night to find a way to win but unfortunately it didn’t happened. We could be more dangerous playing four against three, we got our chances but we weren’t able to put it in.” Ended Philippe Boucher.

Quebec will return in action on Saturday night playing at home for second game in three nights hosting Acadie-Bathurst Titans.

Four other games were on QMJHL schedule on Thursday night
