QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Winning against Val-d’Or the night before, Blainville-Boisbiand dominates the third period scoring three times leading them to 4-1 win against Quebec Remparts. Joel Tisdale, with two goals, made the difference in home team favor.
Quebec broke the ice taking advantage of five-on-three power play. Philipp Kurashev, made perfect pass to Matthew Grouchy who, only had to push the puck behind Armada goaltender Emile Samson at 10:55 of the opening period.
Losing the service of forward Olivier Mathieu in Friday night game against Acadie-Bathurst to shoulder injury (possible absence 7 to 10 days), Remparts lost another player in first period following a high sticking by Charles-Antoine Giguere. Quebec defenseman Benjamin Gagne left the game in first period.
On the other end, best scoring chances came from the stick of Thomas Ethier, defenseman Simon Lavigne but on both occasions Quebec goaltender Anthony Morrone made the saves.
Quebec got good news to begin the second period as their captain came back in the action. Quebec got other great scoring chances in middle frame with Grouchy taking a shot on Armada netminder in two-on-one breakaway with Pierrick Dube. Choosing to shoot, the author of the unique Quebec goal saw Armada netminder making the save.
Quebec center Philipp Kurashev got two other chances to add to visiting team lead, one as he took the shot on Samson, the other on two-on-one breakaway but on both occasions Armada netminder made the saves.
While Quebec dominated in shots on goal department 28-19 after forty minutes the score on main scoreboard is 1-1 as Simon Pinard scored his first goal in the QMJHL on his 10th QMJHL game completing great play from teammate Joel Tisdale and Simon Lavigne at 13:30.
Blainville-Boisbriand made the difference in third period scoring three times with two goals in an empty net in span of 29 seconds. With the score been in deadlock 1-1 after forty minutes of play, Armada left winger Joel Tisdale gave his team the lead for first time in the game with first of two goals in the third period.
Taking puck in neutral zone Blainville-Boisbriand left winger beat Quebec veteran defenseman Sam Dunn driving to the net beating Quebec goalie Anthony Morrone for Armada second goal with 7:19 to play.
Trailing by one Quebec head coach decided to pull his starting netminder for first time with 1:57 remaining to the third period. Tisdale shot the puck in an empty net with 1:49 left to play. Last Armada goal fourth one also has been scored in an empty net as defenseman Samuel Bolduc long shot went in with 1:22 remaining.
Quebec next game will be next Wednesday at home hosting Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
