“Pierre[-Edouard Bellemare] made a good play cutting back,” Theodore said. “Sometimes you can catch them trying to gap-up too much and I kind of just used my speed.”

Ryan Carpenter, Alex Tuch and Paul Stastny scored for Vegas.

“It’s good to see myself have a little consistency, more than last year, that’s for sure,” Tuch said. “I would have a point or two points in a game and then not have a point for three, four games last year, and that’s not what I wanted to do.”

The Knights trailed 3-1 before Carpenter and Stastny scored in the second and third periods to force the extra session.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 20 saves to get the win as the Knights improved to 28-16-4.

“We weren’t too happy with our first period,” Knights Head coach Gerard Gallant  said of the adjustment between periods. “Chicago came out and played a real good first period and we get down 2-0. Definitely played a lot better in the second and third period. It was a big two points obviously for us so real happy with them.”

Alex DeBrincat struck twice for Chicago and Patrick Kane added a single marker in the loss.

“I thought we played a pretty good game,” DeBrincat said. “Maybe in the third period we kind of sat back a little bit and tried to protect the lead, but the best way to protect is going on offense and generating more chances. I thought we played an overall alright game. We definitely could’ve won that one.”

Chicago dropped to 16-22-9 with the loss.

“I think the guys did a really good job of moving the puck around quick tonight,” Kane said. “Break-ins are solid and you end up going 2-for-4 [on the power play]. It’s been a confident part of our game lately.”

Collin Delia made 29 saves in the loss.

“We got a little passive and let them come at us,” Blackhawks head coach Jeremy said. ‘CollitonThey raised the tempo a bit there because they were pushing for a goal, and that’s what you have to expect. We were on our heels, we had a chance to go to people and create a battle and win a puck a few times or win a race and get out of the D zone.”
