Blackhawks stun Ducks on late Kane goal

The Chicago Blackhawks’ Alex DeBrincat scored the second of his two goals on the night to tie the Anaheim Ducks at 3-3 in the third period.

Patrick Kane scored the game-winner with 17 seconds left on the clock in regulation to give the Hawks a 4-3 win.

“Kaner was talking to me on the weak side so I just gave it to him,” Brandon Saad said. “Obviously he knows what to do with it.”

Corey Crawford was the story of the game as he returned to the lineup after missing 20 matches with a concussion.

“I thought I made some big saves,” Crawford said. “Also made some big mistakes.”

Devin Shore, Carter Rowney and Troy Terry scored the Anaheim goals

“It was a big game. Didn’t think we were very good but we found a way. We made some plays to get back in it there and we’ll take it,” Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton said after the win.

Artem Anisimovalso scored, shorthanded, for Chicago who improved to 27-28-29 but still trail the second wild card spot in the west.

“It keeps us in the race,” Kane said. “Gives us a little confidence when I know we think we can play better too.”

Ryan Miller made 31 saves in the loss.

“The main theme is we’re struggling to score goals. We’re playing good hockey, but just not getting the results offensively,” Terry said.
