Blackhawks Shut Out Jets

WINNIPEG MB – It was set to be an emotional night as former Winnipeg Jets captain Andrew Ladd was returning to Winnipeg as a member of the visitors the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks were currently on a four game losing skid and looking to get back on track against an injury riddled Jets line up. The Blackhawks took control late in the second and never looked back as they cruised to a 4-0 shut out win to snap there losing streak.

Scott Darling got the call for Chicago and stopped 28 Winnipeg shots for his second 10/14/2015 Flyers vs Blackhawks Goalie Scott Darling (#33)career shut out . He got some help from his posts as Blake Wheeler rang one off the iron in the first period. He also robbed Drew Stafford with an amazing glove save in the second period.

During the first stoppage in play the Jets paid tribute to there former captain with a two minute video and the fans gave Ladd a standing ovation for his five years as captain.

The Jets went 0 for 4 on the power play in this game and just couldn’t find any luck around the net.

The Blackhawks got goals from Patrick Kane his 39th , Marian Hossa his 12th , Andrew Ladd his 20th and Tomas Fleischmann his 13th.

Kane scored an absolute beauty as he raced down the wall and cut to the net and had little to no room but still roofed a filthy backhand past Ondrej Paveleclate in the second and this Chicago Blackhawks right wing Patrick Kane (88) (Patrick Gorski/PHN)seemed to deflate the young Jets who were battling and in a scoreless tie before Kane decided to get going.

Pavelec who was in the pipes for Winnipeg stopped 32 shots and falls to 8-13-2 on the season.

Winnipeg falls to 29-37-5 on the season and sits in the Western Conference basement 13 points out of a playoff spot.
