BASINGSTOKE UK: Adam Harding made his Bison debut back in November against his old team the Swindon Wildcats in a 4-3 loss in Basingstoke.
The game also saw the return of Jonas Hogg to the ranks of the Wildcats.
A lot has happened since then and now Swindon and Basingstoke are first and second in the South One league standings.
This weekend, both sides take a break from chasing the league crown as they clash in a two legged semi-final of the South Cup.
The first game is in Swindon on Saturday with the return in Basingstoke 24 hours later.
The addition of Harding has certainly helped the Herd, as they moved to a season high second placed last weekend.
This was after they beat the leaders for so much of the campaign, the Peterborough Phantoms 5-3 on the road, as player/coach Ashley Tait netted his first Bison hat-trick.
This took their current winning streak to five games. The previous weekend, Harding notched his first brace for the team in an excellent victory at Bracknell.
The Welsh-born forward has now settled into the Bison line-up.
“Adam Harding gives us more depth and balance across the line-up. I did not bring him in to score 20 goals. He has given us three strong lines and he is one of a number of players who are playing well for us. We have a bit of momentum going now and we are looking forward to the weekend,” said Ashley Tait.
The winner of the Basingstoke and Swindon semi-final showdown will face either Bracknell or Peterborough in the final.
